VOL. 01 — ABOUT
What this company is.
Stockholm, Sweden · 2026
What we are
OmniTeam is a B2B team-chat product for European companies. We exist to fill a market gap that no incumbent serves well: managed, EU-sovereign, modern, integration-rich team chat. Slack’s product without Slack’s data politics. Mattermost’s sovereignty without Mattermost’s DIY operations burden.
We are deliberately, structurally European — not "EU region of an American cloud" — across the entire stack: hosting, payments, analytics, email, company incorporation, ownership. Read the EU Pledge for the contractual specifics.
Who runs it
The founder
CEO & Engineer · Stockholm, Sweden
Solo-founder build, by design. Past life: shipping software at scale in product engineering and infrastructure roles. Decided in 2026 that the EU sovereignty question for team chat was unanswered, picked up the keyboard, and started.
Where we’re incorporated
OmniTeam is incorporated in a European Union member state. The company is privately owned, fully self-funded at launch, with no US investors and no commitments to non-EU capital. We will not seek US-based VC funding, and we will not redomicile.
Our commitment to remain so is contractual, not aspirational — attached as an annex to every paid customer’s DPA. See the EU Pledge.
How decisions get made
Solo-founder companies have one obvious failure mode: the founder disappears, gets sick, or gets bored, and the product stops shipping. We mitigate this with three durable practices:
- Public-by-default operations. Decisions, roadmap, metrics live on this site (/open, /roadmap, /changelog). A successor can pick up the file and continue.
- Documented architecture. Every architectural decision ships with a written record. Your data is recoverable from documented format, not tribal knowledge.
- Customer escrow. Source code and infrastructure credentials are held in a third-party EU-domiciled escrow such that paid customers retain the right to continue self-hosted operation if OmniTeam ever ceases trading.
What we won’t do
Reading "what we won’t do" is more honest than reading a "values" page. We won’t:
- Open a US sales office or pursue US enterprise.
- Take VC funding from US-only firms.
- Build for a vertical (no "OmniTeam for healthcare", etc.) — we’re horizontal under those.
- Ship ads, message-data monetization, or AI features that read your messages without explicit per-feature opt-in.
- Run a phone-support line. Everything is async. See our self-serve commitments.
